PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences. They’re what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. It’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water course. The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.

Cost of course: £325 plus entry to dive sites.

Prerequisites: A PADI Open Water Diver and at least 15 years old

What You Learn

You’ll hone your skills by completing five adventure dives that introduce you to:

  • Underwater navigation
  • Deeper water diving (typically anywhere from 18-30 metres/ 60-100 feet)
  • Three more Adventure Dives of your choice (from the Advanced Open Water manual)

The Fun Part

One reason you’ll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving, peak performance buoyancy and much more.

PADI Rescue Diver Course

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.

Cost of course: £350 plus entry to dive sites.

  • Prerequisites:
  • Be 12 years or older
  • Have a PADI Advanced Diver certification
  • Be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years (Or have completed the Emergency First Response CPR and first aid courses).

Looking for the first step in working with scuba as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

Cost of course: £425 plus your time and enthusiasm

  • Divemaster slates
  • PADI Divemaster certification and membership fees, payable to PADI
  • Prerequisites:
  • 18 years old
  • A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
  • A PADI Rescue Diver
  • An Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or qualifying first aid and CPR training from another organization) course completion within the past 24 months.
  • Have at least 40 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification
  • Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months.

What You Learn

During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as helping others improve their scuba skills. You put this knowledge into action by assisting your instructor during training courses..

As you progress through your Divemaster course, you’ll expand your diving knowledge, hone you skills and increase your confidence. Then, as a PADI Divemaster, you’ll use these attributes to lead, mentor and motivate other divers and experience the joy of seeing them celebrating their achievements.

PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

PADI Refresher Course

If you haven’t dived for a while, or are a bit apprehensive about getting back in the water and want to freshen up your skills then a PADI Scuba Review is for you. Most dive centres around the world will insist that you complete a Scuba Review if you haven't dived for 12 months or longer.

Cost of course: £50

Prerequisites:

  • PADI Open Water Diver.
  • Please remember to bring along your PADI certification card and log book.

What You Learn

You’ll run through the important aspects of the theory and go through the important skills you learn't on your PADI Open Water course in the safety and comfort of a heated swimming pool. A refresher course focuses on this easily forgotten information.
